Goodyear Limited Warranty For Passenger Car and Radial Light Truck Consumer Tyres
- 5 years limited warranty from the date of purchase stated in the original invoice or,
- In the case the original invoice is not available, 5 years of limited warranty from the date of manufacture.
What is covered under Goodyear Limited Warranty?
Passenger Car and Radial Light Truck Consumer Tyres.
All Goodyear tyres manufactured and/ or marketed by Goodyear Malaysia Berhad and bearing Goodyear’s serial number, which are within 5 years from the date of purchase stated in the original invoice or, in the case the original invoice is not available, 5 years of limited warranty from the date of manufacture, are covered by warranty during the original tread life from defects in workmanship and/ or materials which may render the tyre unserviceable. ·
If Goodyear’s examination shows such product has a condition due to defects in workmanship and/ or materials, under the terms of this warranty, a fair and reasonable allowance will be made towards the purchase of a similar new Goodyear product. Any such allowance will be made based on the average remaining tread life.
The average remaining tread life is calculated as a percent and is based on the measured remaining tread depth down to the Tread Wear Indicator (TWI of 1.6mm), relative to the new tyre legally useable non-skid depth.
*TWI = Tread Wear indicator (1.6mm)
*Average Remaining Tread Life = Average usable tread depth measured across the tyre
What Is Not Covered under Goodyear Limited Warranty
- Request for adjustments for tyres which are more than five (5 ) vears from date of manufacture, or purchase date. or tyre age more than 5 years from the purchase date, or which have exceeded the life of the original usable tread depth*, whichever comes
(*) The original usable tread depth is the tread depth down to the tread wear indicators of 1.6mm.
- Tyres / tubes / flaps modified by any kind of material added after leaving a Goodyear factory. Credit will not be given in any adjustment transaction for tyres if the condition relates to modifications with material such as (but not limited to); balancing substances, white inlay on a black tyre, sealants & fillers (excl. Duraseal technology).
- Wear related complaints including fast wear, uneven wear and heel & toe wear for Consumer, Commercial and farm tires.
- Road hazards (including, cuts, snags, impact breaks, punctures, whether repairable or not);
- Chipping and chunking for all Wreck, collision or fire;
- Improper inflation, overloading, high speed spin-up, misapplication, misuse, negligence, racing, improper mounting or demounting.
- Mechanical condition of the vehicle’s suspension, steering, brake system and Including misalignment, Improper Toe and camber adjustment.
- Ride disturbance after the first 25% of usable tread wear or due to damaged wheels or any vehicle condition;
- Temporary spare tires used on vehicles used in racing and on passenger cars in special application e.g.; police
pursuit service; - Tyre flat spot conditions caused due to prolonged storage of vehicles, with tyres mounted.
- Tyres with conditions being the direct result of tyre structure modification such as repairs processed by third party, siping or used with defective components such as tube, flap or rim.
- Usage of tubes in tubeless tyres if not otherwise specified.
- Tyres damaged by external events (mounting, dismounting, mechanical condition of the vehicle, chain damage, etc…).
- Tyres with weather-cracking that were purchased more than four (4) years prior to presentation for adjustment or, if purchase date cannot be verified, manufactured more than four years prior to presentation for adjustment.
Any tyre, no matter how well constructed, may develop a condition in service or otherwise become unserviceable due to conditions beyond the control of the Manufacturer. This warranty is not intended as a representation that a tyre condition may not develop.
There is no other guarantee, warranty or liability, express or implied, applicable to these products. No representative has authority to make any representation, promise or agreement except as stated herein.
Terms and Exclusions
This warranty only applies in Malaysia.
Tyres presented to an authorized Goodyear Dealer for compensation remain the property of the consumer and Goodyear accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to tyres which are in the custody or control of an authorized Goodyear Dealer for inspection. The tyre will be the property of Goodyear once adjusted by Goodyear. Consumer holds the responsibility of taking the tyre for further inspection if in the event of dispute.
This warranty does not provide compensation for service charges incurred, charges for mounting and balancing, loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience or consequential damage insofar as the law permits.
Regarding the above warranty policy, there is no other guarantee, warranty or liability, express or implied, applicable to these products of Goodyear. No representative has authority to make any representation, promise or agreement except as stated herein.
This warranty does not supersede or exclude your rights under applicable consumer law.

What is covered under Goodyear Warranty Policy
Bias Light Truck / Bias Medium Truck / Radial Medium Truck / Rear Farm / Grader
All Goodyear tyres bearing Goodyear’s serial number which are within 5 years from the date of manufacture are covered by warranty during original tread life from defects in workmanship and materials which render the tyre unserviceable.
If our examination shows such product has a condition due to defects in workmanship and materials, under the terms of this warranty, we will make a fair and reasonable allowance in the purchase of a new similar Goodyear product.

What Is Not Covered under Goodyear Warranty Policy
- Request for adjustments for tyres which are more than five (5) years from date of manufacture or which have exceeded the life of the original usable tread pattern*, whichever comes first.
- Tyres / tubes / flaps modified by any kind of material added after leaving a Goodyear factory. Credit will not be given in any adjustment transaction for tyres modified with these materials (balancing substances, white inlay on a black tyre, sealants & fillers excl. Duraseal technology), if the condition relates to such material.
- Wear related complaints including fast wear, uneven wear and heel & toe wear for Consumer, RMT and farm tyres.
- Road hazards (including, cuts, snags, impact breaks, punctures, whether repairable or not);
- Chipping and chunking for all tyres. Wreck, collision or fire;
- Mechanical condition of the vehicle’s suspension, steering, brake system and etc. Including misalignment, Improper Toe and camber adjustment.
- Ride disturbance after the first 25% of usable tread wear or due to damaged wheels or any vehicle condition;
- Temporary spare tyres used on vehicles used in racing and on passenger cars in special application e.g.; police pursuit service;
- Air leakage on OTR tyres which have been mounted for more than 3 months prior claim.
- Long term storage of vehicles with tyres mounted on which causes flat spots on tyres.
- Tyres with conditions being the direct result of tyre structure modification such as repairs processed by third party, siping or used with defective components such as tube, flap or rim.
- Usage of tubes in tubeless tyres if not otherwise specified.
- Tyres damaged by external events (mounting, dismounting, mechanical condition of the vehicle, chain damage, etc…).
