Kuala Lumpur, 13 September 2024 – Goodyear Malaysia, a pioneer in tyre technology, continues its steadfast commitment to community safety by donating 60 units of Goodyear Cargo Marathon 2 tyres to St. John Ambulance. Valued at over RM25,000, this donation marks another milestone in a partnership that has been driving public safety forward since 2006.
For nearly two decades, Goodyear Malaysia has played an active role in supporting St. John Ambulance, ensuring their fleet of emergency vehicles is equipped with high-performance tyres that can withstand the demands of critical and urgent medical responses. This long-term collaboration reflects Goodyear’s broader mission to give back to the community by empowering those who safeguard public health and safety.
“St. John Ambulance is a cornerstone of emergency medical services in Malaysia, and Goodyear is honoured to support their life-saving work,” said Ashwin Rajgopal, Managing Director of Goodyear Malaysia. “Our latest donation is more than just a contribution; it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to ensuring these vehicles operate reliably, no matter the road conditions. When we equipped their ambulances with our advanced tyres, we are directly enhancing the safety and efficiency of their operations, helping them reach those in need without delay.”

St. John Ambulance Malaysia provides a wide range of critical services, including 24/7 community ambulance operations, specialised bariatric and neonatal transport, and haemodialysis centres across the country. As the primary ambulance provider for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2, they are on the frontline of emergency responses, including air disaster incidents.
The Goodyear Cargo Marathon 2 tyres were selected for their superior features, including an advanced polymer tread compound that ensures excellent mileage and improved wet braking performance. Their optimised tread pattern guarantees even pressure distribution and extended wear, while the robust footprint and closed tread design provide enhanced durability and a quieter, smoother ride. These attributes are vital for ambulances tasked with navigating diverse and challenging road conditions across Malaysia.
